At the beginning, they talk about the Propaganda Wall and how it changed over the years. Then, they talk about the Liberation Army woman, Jia Hong-Yu, who is giving a speech about her trip to Beijing, how she had to stay in a train that was full and how she saw Chairman Mao.
Then, they talk about Old Qian, who refused to let the Red Guard borrow his bicycle, so they came back on the next day and took away all his properties. In the end, they talk about An-Yi's grandma, how she jumped off a window and committed suicide.

Analysis: Why is this chapter important to the story?
This chapter is important because it really shows that Mao did not do good things to China and that is why An-Yi's grandma committed suicide. Ji-Li starts to understand that Mao is not that good for China.
